Personal Information

• When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address so that we can contact you and send you an invitation to try North. We also record the date and time of your submission.
• We infer your country from your network location at the time of submission. We do not store your IP address, city, region, or precise location.

When using the App

Personal Information

• When you sign in using your Google account, we collect your email address to communicate with you about the App. Your email address is stored in Google's Firebase product.

Google OpenID Permissions

• See your personal info, including any personal info you've made publically available.
• See your primary Google Account email address.
• Associate you with your personal info on Google.
• These permissions allow us to verify your identity, securely sign you in, and show basic account details and are not used for any other purpose.

Gmail API Permissions

• Read, compose, and send emails from your Gmail account.
• Manage drafts and send emails.
• See, edit, create, or change your email settings and filters in Gmail.
• See and edit your email labels.
• These permissions allow you to use the core functionalities of Gmail from within the App and are not used for any other purpose.

People API Permissions

• See and download your contacts.
• See and download contact info automatically saved in your "Other contacts."
• These permissions allow us to suggest contacts for you when composing an email and are not used for any other purpose.

Usage Data

• We collect anonymized analytics data through Xcode Cloud and Google Analytics to understand App performance, feature usage, and to diagnose technical issues.
• We do not collect granular location and device data such as city-level location. Region and country-level metadata is automatically collected by Google Analytics in order to support regional privacy policies and region-based Analytics settings.

To Provide and Maintain Our Service

• Operate our waitlist, contact you about North, and send invitations to try the product.
• Utilize your granted permissions to fetch and display your emails and contacts within the App.

Communications

• Send you updates, newsletters, feature announcements, and other information about North based on your consent or our legitimate interest. You may opt out of receiving these communications at any time.

Analytics and Improvements

• Analyze anonymized data to improve App functionality, enhance user experience, and address technical problems.

Local Storage

• The App stores email data locally on your device to organize, process, and display your emails. This data is no longer accessible by the App once it is uninstalled.

Cloud Storage

• We store your email address and other limited data in secure cloud systems such as Google Analytics or Google Sheets. We priortize using Google products and services whenever possible. We do not use this data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

Security Practices

• We employ industry-standard security practices, including encryption provided by trusted infrastructure providers, to protect your information during transmission and storage.

AI Services

• We do not send your data to any third-party AI services such as OpenAI or Anthropic. All processing occurs privately in the App on your device.

Opt Out of Communications

• You may unsubscribe from marketing and promotional emails by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in those emails or by contacting us directly.

Integration with Google Services

• The App integrates with Google's Gmail and People APIs to provide its functionality. We do not share additional personal information with Google beyond what is necessary for these services, and Google's use of data accessed through the Gmail API is subject to its own privacy policy.

No Additional Third-Party Sharing

• We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes or AI functionality.

Our Practices

• The App does not use cookies or tracking pixels.

Third-Party Content

• Emails displayed within the App may contain tracking technologies from third parties. We do not control or endorse these technologies and recommend reviewing the privacy policies of the respective senders.

No Cross-App Tracking

• We do not track your activities across third-party apps or websites.

Age Requirement

• The App is intended for users who are at least 13 years old, aligning with the minimum age to obtain a Gmail account.

App Store Rating

• Due to access to internet content through in-app browsing, such as opening links from emails, the App is rated 17+ on the App Store.
